MANOWAR and friends salute Ronnie James Dio

Metal heavyweights MANOWAR will honor the legacy of Ronnie James Dio with "Magic - A Tribute To Ronnie James Dio".
MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio said "Heavy Metal has lost a great artist and a true gentleman. I had the privilege of being his friend and I, along with other friends and admirers, wish to honor him."
In addition to MANOWAR, the musical salute to the man who inspired heavy metal musicians all over the world, features performances by HolyHell, Metalforce, Awaken, Avigal, Crosswind, Dean Cascione, Harlet, and more.
The enhanced CD, part one of a two part tribute, will feature new interpretations of classics like ''Holy Diver'', ''Heaven & Hell'', ''I Speed At Night'' and ''Catch The Rainbow'' among others.

Asgardian's Day - Winter Hero

Dear Asgardians,

Aswering our call to set creativity free & share personal contributions, Freydis Rainersdottir has posted two wonderful poems in our Fan Fiction Enjoy the lyrics, as well as the author's introduction on one of the poem's history :-)

"The story to this poem: On one winter day in year 2007 I was bored. I was made a education to Medical documentation assistent. It was the second lesson on this day, English or German (i don´t know) and I looked out off the window. From our education school we had a very nice view.I saw the snowy meadows of a neighbor village near my hometown and suddenly I remembered this poem:

Winter hero

The snow falls quietly
covering meadows and forests;
covering the bloodstained ground
with a white dress.

Bleeding, but painless
is the hero
on the battlefield,
him to death and suffering.

Once he feels
the winter cold on his skin,
His heart filled with joy,
as he pulls into the fray.

The snow is his deathbed,
bloody
He awaits the kiss of a Valkyrie
Walhalla quite prepared for.
The winter chooses his heroes,
turns men to warriors.
The skalds are singing and versing
about the fighter on the white meadow.

Thor jumped ahead and reached the Hammer just a split second before another demonic creature could touch it with its ugly upper limb. The mighty weapon was in a mighty hand. “?t least ?ne thing is in its place” a thought flew through his mind. But there was no time for thoughts like these. The leader of his enemies was sending more and more attackers against him. Thor became one whole - body, soul, will-. The look in the eyes of the huge warrior became fierce.
A limb of the closest demon flew away. The life in its body followed it. Another two fell down under the monstrous hits of Thor`s right fist. He blocked a powerful attack of a demon with the helve of Mjollnir. He did not even try to use it in another way. For the time being. The two fruitless attempts taught him not to throw the mighty weapon again. Hitting everywhere around, Thor literally sank in the disgusting ball of the bodies of his enemies. There was a moment, when Thor couldn`t be seen inside the pile of more and more dead creatures or parts of them.
The leader of the warrior`s enemies rose over the pile. Suddenly a red whirlwind jumped out of it. The power of the Gods in the magical weapon became one with the power of the mighty warrior. Thor and the hammer were in the air. Mjollnir fell down, smashing the leader and the ground under him. A horrible roar came out of Thor`s throat. There was no need for a second hit. He won the fight. His enemies were finished.
